The Story Behind CW Sketches

CW Sketches was born from one of the most difficult chapters of my life.

After leaving a domestically abusive marriage, I needed something that would help me heal, quiet my mind, and reconnect with the person I was before my relationship. I picked up a pencil and started drawing. What began as a way to cope quickly became a source of peace, purpose, and hope.

Every sketch represents another step forward in my journey. Drawing has been incredibly therapeutic, helping me rediscover joy, confidence, and a sense of who I am again.
One of the greatest rewards has been seeing my artwork bring happiness to other people. Knowing that something I have created can make someone smile or preserve the memory of a much-loved pet or wildlife encounter makes every hour spent drawing worthwhile.

CW Sketches is about more than art.
I wanted to give something back to the people who helped me when I needed it most. Throughout my journey, the support I received from Fife Women's Aid was life-changing. They gave me safety, support, strength, and hope at a time when I felt completely alone. I truly believe the work they do saves lives—it certainly helped save mine.

That is why CW Sketches is proud to support Fife Women's Aid. Through my artwork, I hope to help them continue providing vital support to women and children experiencing domestic abuse, so that others can find the same safety, encouragement, and hope that I did.

I will always be grateful for everything they have done for me, and if my drawings can help even in a small way, then every sketch has an even greater purpose.
